The publication contains a series of interviews with eminent female scientists from the Americas. It aims to offer readers an account of their remarkable careers. These women relate their dreams, motivations and the story behind their significant achievements in diverse fields of scientific research, in which they overcame numerous barriers and obstacles.

The booklet is the work of the Women for Science Working Group, composed of representatives (‘focal points’) appointed by Academies that are part of the Inter-American Network of Academies of Science (IANAS). IANAS Logo
