World Water Day is held annually on 22 March as a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.
Celebrated since 1993, World Water Day has grown to become one of the key dates in the UN calendar. World Water Day 2014 focuses on energy and water.
On the occasion of 22 March 2014, IANAS, the InterAmerican Network of Academies of Sciences, is releasing the English language version of 'Diagnosis of Water in the Americas', based on the earlier IANAS publication 'Diagnostico del Agua en las Americas'.
The new English version has been developed through the support of the Mexican Academy of Sciences and with funding from IAP.
