Academies of science, medicine and engineering are encouraged to contribute to an ongoing global online discussion forum on science, technology and innovation (STI) for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The objective of the e-consultation is to mobilize all stakeholders to share information on trends in the deployment of science, technology and innovation for the SDGs, specific solutions and achievements, state of the art expertise on specific issues and practice areas, emerging priorities, critical knowledge and innovation gaps, as well as their views on ways of mobilizing science, technology and innovation responses to address these gaps.
The consultation is structured around two topics:

  • Science, technology and innovation for SDGs 1, 2, 3, 5, 9  and 14; and
  • STI plans, policies and capacity building.

These issues are of particular interest to IAP, especially through its ongoing project, 'Improving Scientific Input to Global Policymaking'.
The online forum is open from 17 April to 5 May 2017 and will ultimately inform the UN STI Multistakeholder Forum that will be held in New York on 15-16 May.

The forum is avaiable HERE.
