The InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) and the Global Young Academy’s Africa Science Leadership Programme (ASLP) are pleased to announce a pilot program, Science Advice for Policy (SAP) Fellowship, which will provide short-term fellowships at policymaking or policy-advising organizations for emerging African leaders in the sciences.
Host organizations include continental, regional or national agencies in Africa that have a well-developed science policy portfolio and substantial familiarity with the science policy landscape in Africa. Each host organization will provide its fellow with insight, training, and experience in bringing science to bear on policymaking (from the perspectives of providers and users of science advice) that could be fruitfully applied in the context of the fellow’s home country or region.
Fellows will be selected jointly by the host organization and IAP/ASLP from a pool of eligible candidates drawn from participants of IAP, GYA, ASLP, and other science leadership programs. The fellowships are 4-week placements that will take place between April – June 2019. The Fellows and host organizations will be announced in March 2019.
Applications are no longer being accepted.
