Currently, Beverly is chief of the research division of the Health Policy Development and Planning Bureau of the Department of Health, and concurrently a part-time faculty of the Ateneo de Manila University Health Sciences Program. As Division Chief, she is in charge of managing the $3.5 million health policy and systems research portfolio of the DOH from agenda setting to technical evaluation of proposals to contracting to disseminating findings in the most appropriate format that is most suitable to policymakers within the DOH and other key stakeholders; she also manages a policy and research fellowship program with 30 fellows deployed to different DOH offices ensuring that they receive a balanced learning experience (theoretical and actual). Concurrently, she has the following special assignments from the Undersecretary of Policy and Health Systems: prepare DOH strategy in engaging sectors that contribute to healthy settings (workplace, schools, housing & transportation) and address social determinants of health, spearhead consultation and writing of the medium term national health strategy, co-lead the writing of the National Objectives for Health 2016-2022, co-convene the Monitoring and Evaluation Oversight Committee of the DOH. As part-time faculty of the Ateneo de Manila University, she teaches an introductory health policy class to pre-medical students and advises a group of students on their thesis related to out-of-pocket payment of patients in government hospitals.
