The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and IAP have jointly initiated a project to identify effective and replicable experiences of ‘Health in All Policies’ (HiAP).
The 8th WHO Global Conference on Health Promotion in June 2013 published ‘The Helsinki Statement on Health in All Policies’, where HiAP has been defined as "an approach to public policies across sectors that systematically takes into account the health and health systems implications of decisions, seeks synergies, and avoids harmful health impacts, in order to improve population health and health equity".
HiAP has become an important approach towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and many countries have good practices of implementing HiAP.

As a first step, CAE and IAP are calling for submissions of 500-word abstracts of best practices. Such case studies may come from developed and developing countries, involve diverse areas and factors that affect people’s health, and may be national, regional or even city-wide.
A Steering Committee of experts, assisted by IAP member academies, will screen the submitted abstracts and select the best. These authors will then be invited to provide full-length case studies and will be invited to present their report at an international event hosted by CAE. Following this meeting, full-length case reports will be edited for consistency of style before publication.
For additional details, please see the ‘Other related resources’ document ‘A Guideline for Best Practice Collection on Health in All Policies’.
Abstracts should initially be submitted via the online form: https://tinyurl.com/HIAP2018
The deadline for submitting abstracts is: Extended to 31 January 2018
