IAP-ISSE International School of Science Education (IAP-ISSE 2026)

The InterAcademy Partnership will host the IAP-ISSE 2026 International School of Science Education at the Ettore Majorana Foundation and Centre for Scientific Culture in Erice, Italy, from 16–19 October 2026. This high-level, invitation-only meeting will bring together senior scientists, educators and academicians to engage in strategic dialogue on strengthening science education in an era of rapid epistemic and technological transformation.

The School will explore science education as a systemic and societal endeavor, with a focus on:

• Inquiry-based science education
• Teaching how science works, including evidence, uncertainty, and scientific reasoning
• Science education in the age of artificial intelligence
• Research-informed professional learning
• Development of international educational alliances

Through plenary discussions, interactive sessions and collaborative exchanges, the School aims to move beyond reflection toward coordinated, long-term action among academies and educational networks worldwide.
