We are pleased to share an invitation from The Academy of Medical Sciences and The Lancet for the International Health Lecture 2025.

Renowned epidemiologist Professor Quarraisha Abdool Karim FRS, Associate Scientific Director at the Centre for the AIDS Programme of Research in South Africa (CAPRISA) and the President of the World Academy of Science, will explore 'Lessons from Africa: health diplomacy in HIV prevention.'

Key themes include:

·         Merging scientific rigour with innovation to address global health challenges

·         Working with communities to translate evidence into policy and practice

·         Building resilience through strategic funding and shared values

A panel of global experts will join the discussion:

·         Dr Anders Nordström, Stockholm School of Economics (in person)

·         Dr Mohammad Hosseini, Northwestern University (online)

·         Dr Peggy Oti-Boateng, African Academy of Sciences (online)

The lecture is open to all and will be followed by a networking reception for in-person attendees.
