On the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the International Science Council, the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) and the Standing Committee for Gender Equality in Science (SCGES) will present the findings of a landmark study on gender equality in scientific organizations worldwide.
Drawing on a decade of data (2015–2025) from 136 academies, unions and disciplinary societies, alongside insights from nearly 650 scientists, the study highlights trends in women’s participation, leadership and recognition. The 2025 third edition provides the most comprehensive view to date of the structures and experiences shaping inclusion in scientific institutions.
The webinar will:
- Present key findings on progress and persistent barriers to gender equality
- Highlight institutional practices linked to more inclusive and gender-responsive organizations
- Share perspectives from scientists and organizational leaders
- Discuss concrete steps for academies, unions and partner institutions to strengthen equity and representation
