Africa Regional Learning Session on Scientific Corrections & Retractions

On Thursday, 18 September 2025, the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM), in partnership with the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP), will host the Africa Regional Learning Session on Scientific Corrections & Retractions.

This virtual session will bring together experts and stakeholders from across Africa to share perspectives on retractions, ethical publishing, and building trust in the scientific record.

This session is part of a series of four regional learning sessions (Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas) designed to gather global perspectives for the consensus study “Corrections & Retractions: Upgrading the Scientific Record.” The study seeks to upgrade the scientific literature by recommending improvements to the processes used to correct errors in scientific articles, including editorial expressions of concern, errata, corrigendum, retractions, and other actions.
