Young Korean Academy of Science and Technology (YKAST) is an organization in Korea that promotes academic exchange and networking among outstanding researchers under 45 years old — scientists and engineers — with the goal of empowering them to advance science and technology in Korea. 

The vision: “Empowering young scientists to become innovative changemakers shaping Korea’s future.” 

Their mission aligns across three core activities: 

• Policy proposals based on scientific evidence — advocating for science‐led policy 
• Building a global network of young scientists — creating international connections and collaborations 
• Promoting interdisciplinary research for scientific and technological advancement — encouraging research across different fields to drive innovation
