Chair of the Young Academy of Colombia (since 2025). PhD in Environmental Toxicology from the University of Cartagena; MSc in Environmental Management and BSc in Industrial Microbiology from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Her research focuses on microbial culture collections, bioremediation, and the valorization of biosolids. She develops biological techniques for the treatment of industrial and domestic wastewater, bridging laboratory innovation with real-world environmental solutions. She also actively mentors girls and young women in science, advancing equity and inclusion in STEM. 

Honors. Recipient of the Lueny Morell Award (2022), the BIBO 2022 prize from El Espectador, and the For Women in Science – Central America and Andean Region award. 

Affiliations. Member of the Young Academy of the Colombian Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences, the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), and the Colombian Network of Women Scientists.
