Biography

Burmaajav Badrakh is a MD who graduated from Mongolian Medical University (1978). She holds a PhD degree from the Institute of Child and Adolescent, Moscow, Russian Federation (1992), and DSc (Med) from the Mongolian Academy of Medical Sciences, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (2001). She is a Professor since 2010.

She is a WHO Fellow in Health System Research, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (1997), Behavioral Research, Shanghai, China (1999) and Health and ResearchPolicy, La Trobe University, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (2004). Burmaajav worked as Researcher and Senior Researcher at the Department Hygiene and Environmental Health, Institute Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology, Ministry of Health, Mongolia (1979-1996); Officer in-charge of Health research policy, planning and coordination (1996-2014); Scientific Secretary, Subassembly of Medical Sciences, Mongolian Academy of Sciences (1997-2005), General Scientific Secretary, Mongolian Academy of Medical Sciences (since 2005); and officer in-charge of  affiliated academies Mongolian Academy of Sciences (since 2015). 

She has more than 400 publications in the fields of hygiene, epidemiology, environmental health, children environmental health, public health, health technology, climate change and health in Mongolian, Russian, English, including more than 70 written and edited books. She also supervised 6 PhD and 4 master degree candidates.

Her research interests are hygiene, environmental health, children environmental health, health technology, climate change and health.
