Biography

Dr. Gordana Georgieva is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in Skopje, North Macedonia. She works at the University Clinic for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, where she is actively involved in advanced reconstructive procedures.

Her clinical and academic focus includes microsurgery, peripheral nerve surgery, regenerative peripheral nerve interfaces (RPNI), complex burn reconstruction, and lower limb amputation management. She is currently pursuing a PhD focused on prophylactic RPNI in major lower-limb amputations.

Dr. Georgieva played an active frontline role in the national response to the 2025 mass casualty burn disaster, contributing to acute surgical management, multidisciplinary coordination and long-term patient follow-up.

She is actively engaged in international collaborations, surgical education and leadership initiatives, with a strong interest in advancing reconstructive microsurgery and disaster preparedness systems in her region.
