Biography

Dr Katte is a current Fellow of the Global Health Research Group of the University of Exeter Medical School in the UK where he is also undertaking his PhD on understanding factors affecting the survival of patients with type 1 diabetes in sub-Saharan Africa. Dr Katte obtained his medical degree from the University of Yaounde 1, Cameroon in 2011 and later worked as a Medical Doctor in one of the Regional Hospitals in Cameroon up till 2015 where he pioneered the creation of a Diabetes and Hypertension Treatment Center. He later served as the study coordinator for the H3Africa Diabetes Project (a multicenter study in sub-Saharan Africa) in Cameroon. He is passionate about primary diabetes care and has a strong research interest in specific diabetes types in sub-Saharan Africa. He lives in Yaounde, Cameroon and in his free time loves music, playing the piano, reading and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
