For six years Josephine worked with biotechnology and life sciences companies on their intellectual property, helping them obtain (or knock out) patents for inventions in fields like immunology, crop science and genetics. She is currently undertaking an MPhil in the risks and opportunities presented by emerging biotechnologies. She has an academic background in molecular and cellular biochemistry, lab experience in molecular genetics and structural microbiology, and a keen interest in science policy.
