Maurine Musie
Dr Maurine Rofhiwa Musie is a Senior Lecturer and Advanced Midwife specialist at the Nursing Sciences Department, University of Pretoria, where she was also the youngest doctorate graduate in the history of the institution. Her research interests are in sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and introducing digital technology to maternal health. She currently serves as an editor for PLOS ONE. She serves in several leadership positions, most notably representing South Africa as a young scientist and African Regional head at the International Nursing Now Global Challenge (NNC) by the Burnett Trust of Nursing, as the national committee deputy secretary of the Society of Midwives in South Africa (SOMSA) midwifery association under ICM, as well as the Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Board of Directors Secretary. Dr Musie serves on the executive committee of the South African Young Academy of Science.
