MAHATHIR SCIENCE AWARD


The Mahathir Science Award was created in 2004 to recognize an exceptionally significant achievement by any scientist, group (of not more than three people) or institution/organization worldwide who have made remarkable contributions and innovations in pioneering tropical research discovery or innovative solution in the fields of Tropical Agriculture, Tropical Medicine, Tropical Natural Resources and Tropical Architecture and Engineering that have brought positive impact on the well-being of the society.
The award extends beyond the boundaries of Malaysia in order to encourage excellence in tropical science research that will accord direct benefits to the countries in the tropics and also, to the wider global community.
Presented annually, the Laureate will receive US$100,000, a gold medallion and a certificate of recognition.

Novel scientific discovery or innovative solution

Application of the discovery/solution in solving the problems of the tropics

Impact of the discovery/solution on society

A nomination form can be downloaded from the MSAF official website (www.msa-foundation.org). MSAF encourages nomination documents to be submitted via e-mail. Alternatively, nomination documents may be submitted by post to:
