The Inter-American Network of Academies of Science (IANAS), a regional network of IAP, is pleased to announce the 2025 edition of the “Let’s Discover Female Scientists” Video Contest. This initiative aims to highlight the vital contributions of women scientists and technologists across Latin America and the Caribbean, while encouraging youth engagement in science communication.
Students of all genders aged 14 to 23 (as of 30 June 2025), residing in IANAS member countries in Latin America or the Caribbean, are invited to submit entries. Participants must have an interest in promoting the work of women scientists from the region. Students from non-Spanish-speaking countries may also participate, provided the video includes Spanish subtitles.
Submissions will be accepted in two age categories:
Participants must submit an original, unpublished video (maximum 3 minutes) in mp4 format, featuring the work of a currently active woman scientist based in the participant’s own country. Only one video per participant is allowed. Use of copyrighted music or images is prohibited unless proper licences are obtained or content is sourced from free-use libraries. Videos failing to meet copyright compliance will be disqualified.
