The International Science Council (ISC) and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) are inviting nominations of experts to review the second-order draft of the 2027 Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR).

Published every four years, the GSDR provides independent, evidence-based guidance to support sustainable development and informs the global follow-up and review of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The 2027 report will examine a range of interconnected issues, including emerging global challenges, barriers to integrated action, inequality and justice, accountability for implementation and pathways for sustainable development beyond 2030.

Nominations are invited for active researchers, practitioners and policy experts with expertise relevant to one or more areas covered by the report. Experts from the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, medical and health sciences, engineering and technology, as well as interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary fields, are encouraged to participate. Experience at the science-policy interface and familiarity with international sustainable development processes will be an asset.

The review is expected to take place between early September and early October 2026. Please note that self-nominations are not accepted.

The deadline for nominations is 16 August 2026.
