To ensure a strong and diverse pool of candidates, IAP has extended the deadline for its ongoing Call for Nominations for leadership positions across the organisation. Member Academies are now invited to submit nominations until Tuesday, 20 May 2025.

The call, originally launched in September 2024, is overseen by the IAP Nominations and Elections Committee in accordance with the IAP Statutes approved in August 2021. Elected candidates will contribute to IAP’s strategic direction and programme delivery over the coming term.

Open positions include:

  • Co-chairs from Low and Middle-Income Countries to serve on the IAP Board (3 positions)
  • Co-chairs from High-Income Countries to serve on the IAP Board (3 positions)
  • Members of the Advisory Committee (5 positions, in addition to representatives from host Academies and Regional Networks)
  • Members of the Academy Capacity Building Development and Programme Committee (9–12 positions)
  • Members of the Policy Advice Development and Programme Committee (9–12 positions)
  • Members of the Communications, Education and Outreach Development and Programme Committee (9–12 positions)

Who can be nominated?

Nominees must be members of IAP academies and should demonstrate strong leadership in science, medicine or engineering, as well as experience in governance, science-policy engagement, and fundraising. Additional criteria are outlined in the original Call for Candidates.

How to nominate

Each Member Academy may submit multiple nominations and may nominate the same individual for more than one role. A separate form must be used for each nominee.

Next steps

Nominations will be reviewed by the Nominations and Elections Committee, with elections taking place online in July 2025.
