The EASAC 'Changing Wildfires' report is gaining recognition

The EASAC report Changing Wildfires - Policy Options for a Fire-literate and Fire-adapted Europe has already started to create an impact

Following the launch event on 19  May, which you can watch here, EASAC Environment Programme Director , Thomas Elmqvist, was invited to the Office of the President of the European Council. Furthermore, a delegation from EASAC discussed the findings and recommendations of the report with Pernille Weiss-Ehler, Member of Cabinet for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy of European Commissioner Jessika Roswall.

The pressing issue of wildfires was also addressed by the G7 at their recent meeting in Canada, resulting in the release of the Kananaskis Wildfire Charter, which seems to echo many of the core messages in the EASAC report.
