Final Versions of IPBES Nexus and Transformative Change Summaries for Policymakers Now Available

Approved summaries highlight critical insights and policy options to address biodiversity loss, support sustainable development, and achieve the 2050 Vision for Biodiversity.

The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) has released the final laid-out English versions of the Summaries for Policymakers for two landmark thematic assessment reports.

At the 11th session of the IPBES Plenary, member States approved:

  • the Summary for Policymakers of the Assessment of the Interlinkages Among Biodiversity, Water, Food and Health (commonly referred to as the Nexus Assessment), as well as
  • the Summary for Policymakers of the Assessment of the Underlying Causes of Biodiversity Loss and the Determinants of Transformative Change and Options for Achieving the 2050 Vision for Biodiversity (Transformative Change Assessment).

The final formatted versions of these Summaries for Policymakers are now available in English and can be accessed via the following links:
