The Meeting was hosted by the Australian Academy of Science.
The IAP Executive Committee met in Canberra on 31 October - 1 November 2013 at the Australian Academy of Science. This was the first time the Committee met following the elections of the IAP General Assembly which took place in Rio de Janeiro in February 2013.
During the visit to Canberra, delegates attended the Australian Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science awards ceremony and the official launch of the Australian Academy of Science’s cutting-edge new secondary school science education program, Science by Doing. A visit was also organized to a local public primary school to see an in-class demonstration of the Academy’s primary science education program, Primary Connections: Linking science with Literacy, supported also by IAP.
