Young Global Leaders Joint Session with the Young Scientists at the YGL Space "IDEALSLAB" This session served as an opportunity for Young Global Leaders to interact with the IAP group of Young Scientists. Participants shared their experiences as well as discussed avenues to complement each other's work. The IDEASLAB was a collaborative brainstorming workshop between Young Scientists and Young Global Leaders and explored new and innovative ways of advancing green technologies for sustainability. Ideas were shared on the clean solutions to meet needs for a sustainable future, especially green energy solutions, water and health. Throughout the official events, the IAP Young Scientists had the opportunity to meet with technology pioneers and young global leaders. IAP is running an award scheme for young scientists who managed to establish a partnership with an entrepreneur at the Forum to carry out a "research to business" project. One of the main outputs of the 3rd IAP Young Scientists Conference 2010 is the Young Scientist Ambassador Program (YSAP), established by the young scientists during the concluding session. This program will promote the efforts of the Young Scientists to bridge the international scientific gap by facilitating cultural, scientific, intellectual, or educational interactions. The ambassadorship is non-traditional; that is, interaction must occur between two countries that are at different stages of scientific development, or between two countries that historically have had minimal scientific contact. More information is available from the YSAP website at: www.chem.ufl.edu/~miller/YSAP/, or by contacting Professor Steven Miller, on email: miller@chem.ufl.edu |
