- The Delegation of the Finnish Academies of Science and Letters announced that a total of 99 individuals have been nominated for the 2008 Millennium Technology Prize, with candidates being proposed by 88 organisations in 27 countries. - TWAS held an international workshop on "Cities, Science and Sustainability" in Trieste, Italy, 20-22 September 2007. The initiative was a collaborative effort with the Consortium for Science, Technology and Innovation for the South (COSTIS) and the United Nations Development Programme's special unit for South-South Cooperation (UNDP-SSC). Case studies presented at the workshop will be edited before being published as part of the "Sharing Innovative Experiences" series of books produced by TWAS, UNDP-SSC and other partners.
