Nominations open for the 2026 John Maddox Prize

Nominations are now open for the 2026 John Maddox Prize, which recognises individuals who show courage and integrity in standing up for sound science and evidence in the public interest, often in the face of hostility or significant challenges.

The prize includes an award for an established researcher and a separate early-career award. Both prizes carry a value of USD 5,000. Researchers from around the world are encouraged to nominate outstanding individuals whose work has advanced public discussion on difficult scientific issues.

Nominations close on 2 August 2026.
