- 30 September - 2 October 2019: Online conference to seek input for the scoping process for the nexus assessment
- 9 - 11 October 2019: Online conference to seek input for the scoping process for the transformative change assessment
The scoping process for each of the two assessments includes an online conference. These online conferences are a novelty to the scoping processes conducted by IPBES and are intended to give Governments and other stakeholders an opportunity to provide early input to the scoping process in order to increase the policy-relevance of the scoping reports.
Each online conference will be held over three days and give an opportunity for participants to provide input regarding specific themes related to the respective assessment. More information on the online conferences will be made available shortly on the IPBES website. Participation in these online conferences will require participants to be registered users on the IPBES website. Registration for user accounts can be done on https://www.ipbes.net/user/register.
The information collected during the online conferences will be provided to the groups of experts assisting with the scoping of the two assessments. In this context, please note that the calls for nominations for these experts are currently open (until 15 October 2019):
- Call for nominations of experts to assist with the scoping of a thematic assessment of the underlying causes of biodiversity loss and the determinants of transformative change and options for achieving the 2050 Vision for Biodiversity (nexus assessment)
- Call for nominations of experts to assist with the scoping of a thematic assessment of the interlinkages among biodiversity, water, food and health (transformative change assessment)
