The Polish Academy of Sciences and the Royal Society, UK, (two IAP member academies) will play prominent roles in the upcoming high-level dialogue event 'Science Diplomacy in Poland and its Role in the European Union', taking place on 17 June 2025 in Warsaw, Poland, and online.
Co-organised by the European Commission and the Polish Academy of Sciences, this event will bring together senior political leaders, research policy experts and representatives of the scientific community to explore the role of science diplomacy in addressing global challenges and shaping policy across Europe and beyond.
As a key feature of the programme, the Royal Society will present its new report Science Diplomacy in an Era of Disruption (Royal Society & AAAS, 2025), which updates its widely cited 2010 taxonomy. This will be complemented by a presentation of the European Commission’s own recently released framework on science diplomacy.
