The Annual Meeting of African Science Academies (AMASA 2026) will be held in Nairobi, Kenya, from 10–12 November 2026. The meeting is organised by the Network of African Science Academies (NASAC) and will bring together researchers, policymakers, innovators and development partners to explore Africa’s evolving digital transformation.
Under the theme 'Securing Africa’s Digital Transformation: AI, Cybersecurity and Sustainability', AMASA 2026 will provide a platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange at a critical moment as African countries accelerate investments in digital infrastructure, connectivity, innovation ecosystems, artificial intelligence and digital public services.
The scientific programme will focus on four key sub-themes:
- AI for sustainable development,
- Cybersecurity and digital resilience
- Governance and ethics in digital transformation, and
- Digital capacity, innovation and partnerships.
These areas reflect both the opportunities and challenges associated with scaling digital systems across the continent.
Participants are invited to register and submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations. The deadline for abstract submissions is 31 July 2026. Submissions will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee, and successful applicants will be notified following the selection process. Registration and abstract submission do not guarantee participation. Submit here.
AMASA continues to serve as a leading platform for strengthening collaboration among Africa’s science academies and advancing science informed dialogue on pressing regional priorities.
Further details and submission guidelines are available here.
