TWAS Fellowship Opportunities Open for Young Scientists from Developing Countries

Young scientists from developing countries are invited to apply for several international fellowship opportunities offered through TWAS in partnership with institutions in India and Pakistan.

The programmes support postgraduate and postdoctoral research in a range of scientific disciplines and aim to strengthen scientific capacity and international collaboration across the developing world.

 

TWAS-CSIR Postgraduate Fellowship Programme

Deadline extended to: 3 June 2026

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) of India and UNESCO-TWAS offer fellowships for researchers from developing countries, excluding India, who wish to pursue PhD research in emerging areas of science and technology at CSIR laboratories and institutes.

TWAS-CUI Postgraduate Fellowship Programme

Deadline: 15 June 2026

The TWAS-COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) Fellowship Programme offers full-time fellowships to young scientists from developing countries other than Pakistan who wish to obtain a PhD in natural or social sciences.

TWAS-CUI Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme

Deadline: 15 June 2026

The TWAS-CUI Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme supports young scientists from developing countries, excluding Pakistan, who wish to undertake postdoctoral research in natural or social sciences.

Fellowships are awarded for up to six months, with possible no-cost extensions for an additional six months.
