World Water Day is held annually on 22 March as a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. In 2013 World Water Day will share the topic of Water Cooperation. Celebrated since 1993, World Water Day has grown to become one of the key dates in the UN calendar.
