The Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters, and Arts (Κυπριακή Ακαδημία Επιστημών, Γραμμάτων και Τεχνών) began its operations on 10 April 2019, when its Founding Members were elected. It is a Legal Person of Public Law, but is fully autonomous and independent from Government. Its main objectives are to foster and promote the sciences, letters, and arts, to contribute to the development of research of innovation, to reward excellence, and to strengthen the cooperation between universities, research entities and the industry. It acts as a consulting organ to the Republic when it deems so appropriate, and actively participates in European and International Union of Academies to promote joint interests and international cooperation. The Academy is divided in three Classes: Class A- Class of Natural Sciences, Class B – Class of Letters and Arts, Class C – Class of Ethical, Economic and Political Sciences.
