Batgelder Gantuya

Gantuya Batdelger is a researcher at the Botanic Garden and Research Institute of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, specializing in ethnobotanical and ethnoecological studies. She completed her PhD in 2025, focusing on the traditional ecological knowledge of Mongolian herders in the forest-steppe region.
Her published work includes “Landscape partitioning and folk habitats of Mongolian herders in a mountain forest steppe,” “How Mongolian herders perceive ecological change in a ‘stable’ landscape,” and “The relevance of traditional knowledge for modern landscape management: Comparing past and current herding practices in Mongolia.” Her research contributes to weaving traditional ecological knowledge into contemporary conservation and rangeland management.
