Chan Siok Yee (Sam)

Dr. Chan Siok Yee is a leading researcher in electrospinning, leveraging film dispersibility to enhance patient compliance in dosage forms from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. She holds key leadership roles, including Editor-in-Chief of the Malaysian Journal of Pharmacy, Chair of the Science Leadership Working Group in the Young Scientist Network, and President of the Clinical Ethics Committee USM-LWE. She is also Vice President of the Malaysia Society of Pharmaceutical Technology. As a distinguished scientist, Dr. Chan co-leads education initiatives at the Global Young Academy and has organized leadership programs with AKEPT, the Ministry of Higher Education, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. Her global recognition includes participation in the STS Forum in Kyoto and membership in the Pi community in China. She has received 31 international and 17 national awards, with 16 directly related to electrospinning innovations.
Dr. Chan contributes to science policy and diplomacy, serving in Malaysia’s Planetary Health Action Plan and leading women’s leadership initiatives in STEM. She has spoken internationally on SDGs and pandemic preparedness, including at the Global Young Academy workshop in Rwanda, influencing global health strategies.
