Biography

Dr. David Keith is an experimental physicist by education and training. He currently is a Professor and Canada Research Chair of Energy and the Environment at the University of Calgary, Canada, (Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering and Department of Economics) as well as an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Engineering and Public Policy of Carnegie Mellon University. Over the last 15 years, his research has spanned the areas of climate-related energy policy, atmospheric science, and experimental physics. He is a Member of the Canadian National Advisory Panel on Energy Science and Technology, in his capacity as a carbon sequestration expert a Member of several Committees of the National Research Council (NRC/NAS), a Lead Author of the forthcoming IPCC’s Special Report on Carbon Storage. Dr. Keith has acted as a consultant to Environment Canada (on carbon sequestration) and the U.S. Council for Automotive Research and General Motors (on hydrogen production strategies).
