Evelyn Iyose Umemezia

Professor Umemezia is a distinguished scholar with expertise in Human Resource Management, Gender Studies, Organisational Behaviour, and entrepreneurship. She has led research in sexual harassment, workplace discrimination, etc., including an ongoing African-UniNet-funded project on Campus Sexual Harassment in collaboration with the Vienna University of Economics and Business and the University of Development Studies, Ghana. The work focuses on addressing sexual harassment, designing gender-sensitive frameworks and strategies to quantify sexual harassment in academic environments. Her recent keynote address, “Navigating Gender and Power Dynamics in Contemporary Contexts” at the Vienna University of Economics and Business conference, underscored sexual harassment as a significant gender disparity issue. As a long-standing member of the Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World, she brings extensive expertise in advancing inclusive governance and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), mentoring women, and advocating for policy reforms aimed to addressing sexual harassment and other forms of gender-based violence.
