Biography

Geneviève Almouzni PhD (EMBO member, Member of the French Academy of Sciences, Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences, Director of the Research Center of the Institut Curie from 2013 to 2018 and Honorary Director since then) is Director of Research exceptional class at the CNRS. She coordinated the European network EpiGeneSys. She also served on the EMBO Council (Vice-chair in 2014), chaired the EU-LIFE alliance, co-chaired the European LifeTime initiative, and was appointed on the European Research Council (ERC) in 2019. Highly committed to the place of women in research, she is an active member of the “Women and Science” working group of the French Academy of Sciences, which contributed to the 2024 report "Sciences: where are the women?”.  She is also the laureate of the 2024 prestigious L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science International Award for Europe.
