Biography
Professor Guido Forni, MD, National Member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, Rome, has experience in basic and translational cancer immunotherapy, and considerable expertise in transgenic mouse models of cancer and DNA vaccination. His work at the University of Turin, Italy on the role of cytokines in the immune recognition and vaccines to prevent tumors is well recognized. Over the years, Forni’s lab has devoted great effort to attaining new knowledge on the direct role of vaccine-induced antibodies on tumor growth, their ability to trigger cell mediated reactions and activate complement cascade, and to trigger a cell mediated immune memory to tumor antigens.
