Dr. Martin is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology at UCSG and Principal Investigator at SOLCA Guayaquil. His work focuses on public health, clinical research, health systems, patient-centered care, and translating evidence into policy. He previously served as Ecuador’s Minister of Public Health.

Dr. Martin earned his MD from Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil, an MSc in Healthcare Management from Universidad Miguel Hernández, an MSc in Public Health from Instituto de Salud Carlos III, and a PhD in Health Sciences from Universidad Miguel Hernández.

Dr. Martin lives in Guayaquil, Ecuador with his family. Outside work, he enjoys sports, scuba, traveling, photography, Formula 1, and cars and mechanics. He also values discovering new places, food, and cultures with family and friends.
