Biography

Jin-Ho Chung received his Ph.D. (Toxicology) from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. He has been Professor of College of Pharmacy at Seoul National University (SNU) since Sept. 1988.   Jin-Ho Chung managed an organization as director at Institute of Environment Protection and Safety of Seoul National University for 3 years (2008-2011). He served as the Dean of College of Pharmacy, Seoul National University for 2 years (2011-2013). Now he has been appointed as a director of Medical Sciences Division at Korea Academy of Science and Technology (KAST).

He developed his career at the Academic Society level as follows.  He is a full member of Society of Toxicology (SOT), US since 1994.   He was the president of Korean Society of Food Hygiene and Safety (2007-2008).  He was also the President of Korean Society of Toxicology (KSOT) (2009-2010).  He served and serves in numerous advisory functions in different national organizations. Affiliations include: Korea Food Drug Administration (KFDA), Korea Occupational Safety and Health Administration (KOSHA), Korea Institute of Toxicology (KIT), Korea Environment Industry and Technology Initiative (KEITI), National Institute of Food and Drug Safety (NIFDS). He has contributed to the scientific achievements with a significant number of publications in major toxicology journals.  His work is internationally recognized by prestigious awards, including AstraZeneca Award from SOT, and Deichmann Opening Lecture Award from IUTOX.
