Biography

Prof. Dr. Lisa Herzog is professor of political philosophy and director of the Center for Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Groningen, Netherlands. She holds a D.Phil from the University of Oxford and has worked at universities in Switzerland, Germany, and the US. Herzog writes about philosophical dimensions of markets (both historically and systemically), liberalism and social justice, ethics in organizations and the future of work. The current focus of her work are workplace democracy, professional ethics, and the role of knowledge in democracies. Her work has received numerous prizes, including the Ammodo Award for Basic Science and the Schader Preis. As a member of the Global Young Academy and the Dutch Young Academy, she is active in effort to support At-Risk Scholars and has served as a mentor in various mentorship programs.
