Professor Mu Rongping is Director-General and Professor of the Institute of Policy and Management (IPM), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Director-General of the CAS Center for Innovation and Development, and Director-General of the CAS Center for IPR Research and Training, all based in Beijing.

IPM is devoted to the study of development strategy, development and reform policy, public administration, science and technology management and state-of-the-art theories and methodologies of related disciplines. It houses numerous research programs, and offers several graduate degree programs. Prof. Mu’s research interests include science and technology policy, innovation policy, technology foresight, R&D management, and competitiveness of high technology industries. He received his BS and MS degrees from the University of Science and Technology of China, and his PhD degree from Technische Universität Berlin (Germany).
