Associate Professor Dr. Mürsel Doğrul is a faculty member at the National Defence University, specializing in international relations, security studies, and Asia-Pacific affairs, with particular expertise in Japanese foreign policy and the political economy of energy. He earned his MA in International Relations and completed his PhD with distinction at the National Defence University, focusing on the Middle East in Japan’s foreign policy. Dr. Doğrul has conducted research in Romania and Spain, held post-doctoral fellowships at Meiji University and the University of Tokyo, and teaches a broad range of interdisciplinary courses. Dr. Doğrul has made significant contributions to the field through academic works, examining the evolving dynamics of international security and international relations literature. He has served as an advisor to the President of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) since 2019 and as a representative of the Turkish Young Academy, demonstrating proficiency in advanced English and intermediate Japanese.
