Biography

Olli-Ville Laukkanen is a Research Scientist at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. In addition, he is the Chair of the Young Academy Finland (YAF), where he is primarily responsible for international affairs. He is also the current Secretary of the Nordic Rheology Society and a board member of the Finnish Society for Wood and Polymer Science. Olli-Ville has extensive international research experience as he has worked as a Visiting Scientist at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (USA) in 2014-2018 and as a postdoctoral research / Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow at the RWTH Aachen University (Germany) in 2018-2022. He has also worked as a researcher in the Collaborative Research Centre on Functional Microgel Systems (SFB 985) during his stay at RWTH Aachen. Olli-Ville’s research focuses on experimental material physics, and he has co-organized numerous international scientific conferences in this field.
