Rakesh Kumar Pilania is a pediatrician, physician-scientist and academic at PGIMER, Chandigarh. His work spans child health, immunology, rheumatology, rare and immune-mediated diseases, translational research, medical education, public health, mentorship and health-system capacity building.

Rakesh Kumar Pilania completed his MBBS from SMS Medical College, Jaipur, followed by MD Pediatrics and DM in Pediatric Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology at PGIMER, Chandigarh. He also undertook short-term clinical observerships in Belgium and the USA.

Rakesh values time with family, continuous learning and meaningful conversations. He enjoys travelling, meeting people from different backgrounds and exchanging ideas, and finds fulfilment in mentoring young people and building lasting friendships.
