Dr Savvas Gkantonas leads Pinepeak, a company developing novel wildfire spread and risk forecasting tools for the wildland and built environment. Pinepeak combines jet-engine-inspired physics-based modelling, Earth observation, climatic data, artificial intelligence and advanced computing to support risk assessment, risk mitigation and operational decision making. Before founding Pinepeak, Savvas conducted research at the University of Cambridge on combustion science and computational fluid dynamics.
