Biography

Y. Tony Yang, ScD, LLM, MPH, is an endowed professor and Associate Dean for Health Policy at the George Washington University School of Nursing. His scholarship focuses on the impact of law and policy on healthcare delivery and population health outcomes.

Dr. Yang is the author of over 200 peer-reviewed articles in journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine and JAMA. He is the lead author of Vaccine Law and Policy and sole author of Achieving Health Equity: The Role of Law and Policy.

An accomplished researcher, he has been awarded over $7 million in federal grants as principal investigator, including a current NIH R01. His work has been featured in major media outlets including CNN, NPR, and the New York Times.

Dr. Yang is a member of the World Health Organization's Technical Advisory Group on tuberculosis vaccines and serves on the Board of the American Society of Law, Medicine & Ethics. He holds graduate degrees from Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania.
