Professor Z. K. TUFAN served as the Counselor to the Turkish Embassy in Washington, D.C. from 2020 to 2024. Between 2015 and 2021, she was a member of the Executive Board of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), where she held several key positions including Chair of the Coordination of the Foundation Universities Commission, Chair of the Disabled Students Study Group, and Executive Member of the Education Commission, the Project Commission, and the Recognition of Qualifications Commission. She also served as a member of the Executive Board of the Student Selection and Placement Center(ÖSYM) and the National Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB). Her former advisory board memberships include the Health Professions Board of the Ministry of Health, the National HIV-AIDS Advisory Board of the Ministry of Health, the National Coronavirus Scientific Advisory Committee, the National Coronavirus Coordination Committee, and the Women’s Studies Group of the Scientific and Technological Research Council ofTürkiye (TÜBİTAK).
