'Innovation! How can we create new solutions for the changing climate?' is a freely available community research guide, part of the Smithsonian Science for Global Goals project. These guides support youth in turning their ideas into action for a sustainable future through activities that allow them to discover, understand, and act on solutions to complex global issues.
The Smithsonian Science for Global Goals Innovation! guide introduces youth to the concept of innovation and the role it can play in addressing climate challenges. This free educational resource, aimed at ages 11-18, helps young people:
- Follow a complete innovation process from identifying a problem all the way to launching an innovation
- Explore causes and impacts of a changing climate using a lens of innovation to help identify and create new solutions
- Use their own creativity and community knowledge, hands-on engineering, and data-driven investigations to become innovators
